The Porto Flip belongs to the old Flip family, drinks built on spirit or wine, sugar and a whole egg. This version blends port and brandy, shaken until rich and creamy, then dusted with nutmeg. Flips appear in Jerry Thomas's 19th-century guides. It is a warming, dessert-like sipper from a bygone era.
