Created byPhilip Guichet (Tujague’s)
A minty-green dessert cocktail of crème de menthe, crème de cacao and cream, the Grasshopper is the signature drink of Tujague's in New Orleans. Bartender Philip Guichet is said to have entered an early version in a 1918 New York cocktail contest. Its colour and sweet, after-dinner character earned the insect name. It has become a retro icon of the American South.
