History
The Daiquiri — white rum, lime and sugar — is tied to the mining town of Daiquirí in Cuba around 1898, where American engineer Jennings Cox is said to have served it. It is the purest expression of the rum sour, balanced entirely on three ingredients. Ernest Hemingway's fondness for it later cemented its fame. Served up or blended, it is a benchmark of good bartending.
