Created byAttributed to Bobby Lozoff & Billy Rice
The modern Tequila Sunrise was created around 1970 by bartender Bobby Lozoff at the Trident in Sausalito, California. Tequila, orange juice and a sink of grenadine give it a sunrise-like gradient from red to gold. The Rolling Stones took a liking to it on their 1972 tour, spreading its fame. An Eagles song and Jose Cuervo bottles did the rest.
