The Paradise Cocktail — gin, apricot brandy and orange juice — appears in Harry MacElhone's 1922 book and again, refined, in Craddock's 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book. A dash of lemon sharpens the fruit. Soft, apricot-scented and easy-going, it is a charming pre-war gin drink. It rewards a good apricot liqueur.
