History
Tequila, orange liqueur and lime, the Margarita has many claimed inventors along the Mexican-American border in the 1930s and '40s. It is really a tequila Daiquiri or Sidecar, sometimes served with a salted rim. Countless origin tales attach it to a woman named Margarita. Whatever the truth, it became the world's favourite tequila cocktail.
